Bobby Miller had another great outing for Louisville on Saturday afternoon as he recorded eight more strikeouts on just three hits and no earned runs as Louisville cruised to a 9-1 win to take the series.
In the third inning Louisville got every break possible as the Cards scored six runs on four Western Michigan errors, All six runs in the inning were unearned. The scoring started when Danny Oriente came up with the bases loaded with two outs and grounded to shortstop however the ball was bobbled allowing Dalton Rushing to score the first run of the game. Following Oriente was Zach Britton who brought home Luke Brown and Tim Borden II on a dropped pop up in shallow center field. After Britton was Henry Davis who would drive one deep to left, it was also dropped and that allowed Oriente and Britton to score. When Levi Usher was up there was a pass ball that would allow Davis to score from second base.
Western Michigan added an unearned run in the top of the fourth inning on a ground out.
In the fourth inning Louisville added three more runs when Oriente had a a bases clearing double down the left field line giving the Cards a 9-1 lead.
The Louisville pitching staff was dominate again as the Cards take the series against Western Michigan.
Game three of the series is set for Sunday at 1 PM at Jim Patterson Stadium.
