Louisville came into the game looking to extend the three game winning streak against Xavier. Michael Proseckey got his second start of the season and looked to make it better than his last against Wright State. The Louisville offense exploded in the 7th and 8th innings allowing Louisville to win 8-5.
The first inning got off to a rocky start for Proseckey as the first three Xavier batters of the game reached on singles however was able to work his way out of the jam while only allowing one run.
Louisville would respond in the bottom of the first inning with two runs, with a single from Cameron Masterman and a sacrifice fly from Danny Oriente.
Glenn Albanese would come in relief in the top of the fifth and Xavier would score two runs, one coming on a double off the right field wall and the other coming on a pass ball.
In the Bottom of the 7th, Danny Oriente got a 2 RBI double making it 5-4.
Henry Davis started off the eight inning with a single, Trey Leonard came into pinch run for Davis, followed by a Luke Brown bunt for a base hit, then Levi Usher tied the game with a single to center field. Bianco, walked then Justin Lavey would bring home the go ahead run on the fielders choice. Tim Borden II would then double down the third base line bringing two more home making it 7-5. Lavey would bring home Borden II with an RBI single pushing the lead to 8-5.
Louisville will be back in action this weekend starting Friday with a three game series against Western Michigan.
