The story of the night was Reid Detmers as he had 15 Strikeouts through six complete innings. Louisville scored three runs in the second inning and one if the seventh to get the 4-1 win and start conference play off to the 1-0.
The scoring for Louisville started in the second inning when Justin Lavey singled home Henry Davis. Next was Jared Poland who would bring home Lavey with a one out double. Then Ben Metzinger would reach on an error, then on a throwing error would advance to second and Poland would come around to score.
Then in the seventh inning Louisville would add a run with a one out single from Danny Oriente that would bring home Luke Brown.
Wake Forest would respond in the bottom of the seventh with a two out single from Michael Turconi.
Game two of the series is set for Saturday at 4 PM.
