It was an easy night for the Cards on Tuesday. Of course you can never overlook any opponent, but Belmont didn't exactly set the bar very high. Credit to Coach Lolla though, many teams of Louisville's caliber would've overlooked their midweek opponent and gone straight to preparing for conference foe Syracuse, ranked 3rd. Louisville defeated the Belmont Bruins 6-0.
The Cards added a seventh match their unbeaten streak. They started off quickly with a goal from Mohamed Thiaw, continuing his terrific run of form. By halftime, Jack Gayton had added a second.
It was all downhill from there as the floodgates opened. The boys in white added four more goals in the second half. Netting them were Daniel Johnson, Grant Hollkamp and Cherif Dieye. Belmont conceded an own goal to wrap up the score sheet.
All in all, it was a routine nights work for Ken Lolla's squad. A game with that score line, even against a 202nd ranked Belmont team, should instill loads of confidence heading into the pivotal match against Syracuse on Friday. Kickoff from Lynn Stadium is at 7:00 p.m.
