The Louisville Cardinals volleyball team cannot find their rhythm as they fell at home to NC State and North Carolina.
On Friday evening, the Wolfpack visited the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-23). Morgan Miller was on fire with seven kills, one ace, three blocks, and eight digs. Melanie McHenry added 12 kills and Molly Sauer lead the defense with 15 digs.
Louisville's communication improved greatly against NC State. Their downfall came late in the sets when they committed error after error.
#8 North Carolina visited on Sunday afternoon and dismantled the Cards with ease. The Tar Heels claimed the win 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-17). UNC's height affected the Cards on offense. North Carolina had all but two of their players as 6'0 or taller. They were listed with 4.5 blocks on the day.
UNC played at a tempo the Cards have not seen this season and played a big factor in the first set. U of L adjusted in later sets, but were poisoned by their own errors- 18 on the day. Louisville accumulated nearly half of their errors from serves.
Louisville falls to 6-2 on the season and 1-7 in the ACC. NC State improves to 11-9 and 4-4 and North Carolina is now up to 16-2 and 8-0.
The Cards hit the road for games at Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh next weekend.
