It may be early in the season, but No. 9 Louisville played in a highly-anticipated matchup with the team that won the national championship. And, as underdogs, the Cards came out on top. Louisville defeated No. 3 Delaware 3-1.
16:15 into the game, Louisville’s Whena Munn scored on a penalty corner assisted by M. Martin Pellegrina, giving Louisville the one-nil advantage. Just ten minutes later, Delaware’s Taylor Lister scored on a penalty corner rebound.
But the hero of the game is Forward Minout Mink. The Sophomore from The Netherlands scored twice, the go-ahead goal at the 33:33 mark, and she put the game out of reach at 50:02. The Cards will definitely move up in the rankings. Louisville travels next to Ohio State, this upcoming Friday, September 1st, at 3 p.m.
