Cards ranked in another preseason poll
The Associated Press released its Top 25 poll Monday, ranking the Louisville Cardinals 16th. Alabama was first, followed by Ohio State, Florida State, USC, and Clemson in the top five. It’s the second consecutive year the Cardinals have been ranked in the preseason poll.
Last year, the Cardinals entered 19th, and were briefly the third-best team, before late losses drove them to finish the season at 21.
But behind Heisman-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson and an improved offensive line, the 16th position will likely change as the season progresses. The Cardinals were also ranked 17th in the Coaches Poll earlier this Summer. They'll face their first test Saturday, September 2nd against Purdue in Indianapolis.
