Kubel scores cards only goal in victory
Louisville went on the road Friday, playing in its first test away from Lynn in 2017. The Cards (2-0) defeated Georgia State University (2-0). The game's hero was Tim Kubel, whom scored in their second consecutive game.
It was a defensive game, and filled with fouls. Louisville had five shots, with only one shot on goal. The Cards held Georgia State to only two shots. Both teams combined for 39 fouls, 20 of which were committed by Louisville.
But it was in the second that Louisville scored the winning goal. Just a minute and 38 seconds into the second, Kubel found the net on a penalty kick. It was his second of 2017.
Louisville returns home to take on arch-rival Kentucky at Lynn Stadium Tuesday, September 5th.
