It was a beautiful night for a ballgame at Louisville Slugger Field. Taking the mound for the Gwinnett Stripers was recently optioned righty Huascar Ynoa. The 21 year old Dominican faced off against 26 year old journeyman Eric Stout, the southpaw most recently with the Royals in the majors but with El Paso and now Louisville in AAA. Stout was the opener for a Louisville bullpen day.
The game was a pitchers’ duel through and through. A solo shot from Blake Trahan in the 5thgot the Bats on the board. In the 8th, Gwinnett knitted the game at 1-1 behind a single from
Adam Duvall, scoring Ryan Lamarre. They took this deadlock into the bottom of the 9thbefore Bats’ 2B Alex Blandino walked it off to secure the 2-1 victory with another solo shot.
