Wildcats dominate recent series
Riding a three game winning streak the Louisville volleyball team made a short trip down I-64 to Lexington. The host #12 Kentucky Wildcats were more than prepared for the challenge as they took the win 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-11).
Wilma Rivera's double-double with 18 assists and 11 digs was not enough to lift the Cards out of the hole. Another plus was Maggie DeJong's .333 attack percentage.
The first two sets were close for the Cards, who went step for step with the Wildcats. However, both sets went in favor for the blue and white. It appeared only one team came out after halftime, where Kentucky easily took the third set 25-11.
Sunday afternoon was a quick turn around for the Cardinals when they hosted Kennesaw State. They swept the Owls 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-20).
Molly Sauer recorded 10 digs and Rivera had a game high 38 assists. Overall, the team had a season high 10 service aces- an impressive stats seeing the serving struggles this season.
Louisville sits at 6-4 on the season and begins conference play when Notre Dame visits Friday evening.
