Four Seniors were honored with a win on Saturday; as the tenth-ranked Louisville Cardinals defeated Clemson 1-0 on Senior Night. It took two overtimes, but the Cardinals got it done.
The goal was from Sophomore Elijah Amo. The midfielder received a pass from Senior Tate Schmitt, and sent a lob-through hall to the right-middle of the box. It was Amo’s second goal of the year. It came in the 101st minute.
It was Schmitt’s sixth assist of the season. It added to four season goals.
The other Senior to see action was Adam Wilson. Wilson was on the pitch for 57 minutes in the game. Geoffrey Dee and Watterson Young were the other Seniors on the roster.
The game was somewhat foul-heavy. Both teams committed double-digit fouls. Louisville committed 14, and Clemson 13. Louisville had six corners.
The Cardinals also had more chances. Louisville had the 6-4 shot advantage; 3 of which were on goal.
Louisville moves to 8-3-3. They play one more game in regular-season. The Cardinals will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday; to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The game is at 7pm, and will be on ACC Network Extra. Five days after, the first round of the ACC Tournament will take place.
