No. 10 Louisville couldn’t secure it’s 8th win Tuesday, losing to the Lipscomb Bisons 3-2. The Bisons led for most of the game, despite Louisville’s shot advantage.
The Cardinals had the 13-7 shot advantage overall. Eight of Louisville's shots were on goal. Louisville also had four corner kicks, two more than the Bisons.
Lipscomb scored in the 43rd minute. John Wynia headed the ball above Will Meyer’s outstretched arm. The goal was assisted by Logan Paynter.
The Cardinals had the 5-3 first-half shot advantage. 3 of Louisville’s shots were on goal, with none finding the back of the net. At halftime, Lipscomb led 1-0.
Tate Schmitt scored a goal early in the second half. Tate Schmitt received a pass from Cameron Wheeler, and booted it to the back of the net. It was the Senior Arizonan’s fourth goal of 2018. The goal was in the 53rd minute.
The goal tied the game for the next six minutes. In the 59th minute, Paynter booted a ball to the back of the net for his fifth of the season. The assist went to Zarek Jakubowski.
Lipscomb scored a third goal in the 72nd minute. The Bisons had a corner kick that led to a goal by Louis Robinson. It was Robinson’s second goal of the season.
Pedro Fonseca put Louisville within one in the 75th minute; gaining his first goal of 2018 after hitting the far right post. Adam Wilson assisted Fonseca.
Louisville looks for their 8th win of 2018 against Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 20th. The game is at 7pm, and is on ACC Network Extra.
