Moore puts up 24
Mariya Moore has had some big games this season. Her 24 points helped lead the #9 Louisville Cardinals to a 63-59 over the #14 Miami Hurricanes. The win offsets the loss at #7 Florida State earlier in the week.
Moore also added seven rebounds and a pair of assists to her stats while only sitting out one minute of the game. Myisha Hines-Allen had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Briahanna Jackson contributed 11 points and had a key jumper in the last couple minutes of the game.
The Cards led the entire portion of the game, scoring the first points of the game and never looking back. Although they maintained the lead it was close the entire time. The largest lead was nine points in the second half, but Miami closed the gap on several occasions, even bringing the score within one point.
Jackson had a key jumper with the shot clock ticking down to extend the lead before the Hurricanes hit a three on the other end. Rebounding down the stretch went in the Cards' favor and a free within the final seconds sealed the deal.
U of L out-rebounded the Hurricanes 46-31 and had eight less fouls, which contributed to the win.
Louisville improves to 16-4 and 4-2 in the ACC. Miami falls to 14-4 and 3-3 in conference play.
Georgia Tech comes to town on Wednesday before the Cards take a three game road trip.
