Undefeated season continues
Despite not having Arica Carter and Asia Durr for the game the Louisville women's basketball team (14-0) downed Air Force (0-11) 62-50. The visit to Colorado Springs concluded the non-conference schedule for the Cards, who visit Georgia Tech and NC State before the end of the calendar year.
Carter and Durr sat out of the game due to injuries and Dana Evans and Sydney Zambrotta got the call for the start. The pair combined for 21 points. The real star for the Cards was Myisha Hines- Allen. The senior put up 16 points and eight rebounds as she helped dominate down low.
Louisville's defense was on par with the rest of the season holding the Falcons to just 50 points and not allowing more than 16 points in any quarter. Air Force shot just 29% from the field and 20% from three point range. The Louisville defense forced 14 turnovers, but the Cards committed 22 themselves.
The Cards shot 0-for-8 for three pointers, the first time they have not made one all season. Since Durr did not play her streak of made three pointers in a game continues.
Once again Louisville out-rebounded their opponent. This match-up included 45 for the Red and Black with one-third of them being offensive.
The win continues the undefeated season for Louisville, who does not play another game for eight days. They'll make the trip to Atlanta and Raleigh for early conference road games. They return to the KFC Yum! Center in January to host Duke, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame with two of those opponents being ranked in the Top 15.
