Louisville lacrosse defeated Butler 15-5 on Wednesday afternoon to earn their second win of the season. Alex McNicholas scored a game-high four goals.
The Cards raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first four and a half minutes by four different players and never looked back. Louisville held a 9-1 lead before a couple late goals by Butler before halftime cut into the lead. Right before the buzzer sounded for halftime Caroline Blalock fired a shot into the back of the net for a 10-3 lead.
Louisville scored the first three goals of the second half before Butler went back-to-back on goals. The Cards would on to score the final two goals of the half, winning the period 5-2, and ultimately the game.
With the win, Louisville improves to 2-5 on the season. They return home to the Louisville Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday at noon, when they host Duke.
