Louisville women's soccer opened their season at Miami, and walked away with a 3-0 win.
The Cards took no time picking up where they left off last year. Emina Ekic found Delaney Snyder in the box, who juked the Miami goalkeeper for an open net just 6:30 into the match.
Ekic dribbled up the pitch and sent a shot across the box for her first goal of the year to put the Cards up at the 15' mark.
A little over four minutes later, Ekic was at it again. She fought through defenders with strong maneuvering to get a shot off the left foot into the right corner of the net.
Louisville would take the 3-0 lead into halftime and never relinquish it.
The second half remained quiet as each team swapped out players to rest starters and get in-game experience for the bench. Each team saw a couple good looks, but no one managed a shot on goal.
Gabby Kouzelous started the season with a shutout, a good start to another bid for a season over sub-1.00 goals per match.
Louisville starts the season 1-0 and will travel to Florida State on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
