Losing back-to-back games is nearly unheard of for Louisville women's basketball. But it happened. The Cards fell at home to Florida State 67-59 and followed it up with a loss at Syracuse 59-51.
Louisville (21-3, 10-2) is now second in the ACC, sitting one game back of NC State, who the Cards will face Thursday.
Guards Norika Konno and Elizabeth Balogun were out for both of the games. Konno has been nursing a knee injury that occurred against Team USA. Balogun has been playing with the Nigerian National Team, who just qualified for the 2020 Olympics.
Yacine Diop has seen limited minutes as she has played through an illness due to the smaller roster.
The losses are the first two times the Cards were held below 60 points all year.
Louisville has three more home games, with the next one being Sunday against Notre Dame in the Play4Kay Pink Out.
