Louisville, KY- Hatred will be renewed Saturday afternoon in the KFC Yum! Center as the Cards host in state rival Western Kentucky. The Cards and Hilltoppers look to break a stalemate in the all-time record, as the teams are both 39-39 in a game that dates back to 1929.
As usual, the Cards will be looking to their offense which they will want to strike quickly and efficiently. Damion Lee, who averages 18.9 PPG, will look to keep his hot shooting streak Saturday, as he is a big part of the 52.5% the Cards have shot from the floor this season. Louisville has defeated teams by a average of 31.3 points this season, their only loss coming to number 1 ranked Michigan State in East Lancing, where the Cards only lost by 4. Another big time player for Louisville is Trey Lewis, the big guard and senior transfer from Cleveland State. Lewis averages 13.9 points a game and is a very scrappy defensive player. Louisville leads the nation in scoring margin (31.3) and rebound margin (+17.8).
As for Western Kentucky, Justin Johnson is the top scorer averaging 17.2 PPG and 8.4 RPG. If the Cards can contain the duel threat Johnson, they will have no problem walking out of the Yum Center with a W. Another player to watch for the Hilltoppers is Nigel Snipes, averaging 12.9 PPG.
The Cards and Hilltoppers will tipoff at noon at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will also be available to watch on ESPN U and the Watch ESPN App.
