Spring sports schedules can kick your butt. There's days where every sport you have and haven't heard of are playing. Sometimes it's just a different sport each day of the week. Here's what's going on right now:
Baseball After starting 19-0 they took their first loss at Cincinnati. Sitting at 19-1 and dominating nearly every opponent they faced the Cards should hang out in that top spot and stay dominant as conference play progresses.
Softball After gradually improving game by game they were run-ruled by Wisconsin in five innings at Ulmer Stadium today. Everything just seemed off for them after having a weekend sweep where the offense was rolling smooth and the pitching and defense had one of their best spurts. They host Indiana and Kentucky in the upcoming weeks.
Women's Basketball This team is still dancing. Currently in OKC, they face 1-seed Baylor in the Sweet Sixteen. A healthy roster means this team is dangerous, and Coach Walz is no stranger to the tournament. This team is having a solid year.
Men's Basketball An early exit in the tournament due to a second round loss to Michigan has fans waking up. It wasn't a great year this year. But it wasn't a bad year. Free throws and transitional defense sure did hurt this team. Donovan Mitchell, Deng Adel, and Jaylen Johnson have declared for the NBA draft, but with the new rules they can all return to Louisville as long as they don't hire an agent.
Women's Swim and Dive Mallory Comerford is a national champion to give the women a national champion for six straight years. Overall, the team finished sixth at the NCAA Championships.
Men's Swim and Dive They're currently at the NCAA Championships. Sitting in eighth after one day it looks like another top ten finish for U of L.
Lacrosse Sitting at 9-3 is very good for a team that seems to face another ranked opponent every game. They only have five more games remaining in the regular season.
