Today is a day for thanks. While we take a break from UofL sports today; and spend time with family; we at River City Cards say thanks:
Seth Spalding, photographer
This Thanksgiving, there is a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for the opportunity to shoot many games for River City Cards.
Also, let’s not forget one of River City Card’s most valuable athletes; as they will be working hard with major weight training and a regiment of stretches that are sure to make your stomach hurt.
Of course, I’m talking about the one true hot dog eating king…. myself! I represented RCC in the Louisville Bat's first-ever hot dog eating contest. I am thankful to Mike and Jared for putting me up to it. I am thankful for all the well wishes during my recovery.
Kevin Kernen, soccer correspondent
I'm thankful for having such a great university to both cover and attend, for colleagues I work with at RCC and UofL and to be able to grow as a writer
Jared Anderson, senior photographer
I’m thankful for the opportunities to shoot the University of Louisville’s 21 Division I sports. Being able to photograph prime-time games when the Cardinals plays the top teams in the country is quite an honor. I’m thankful for great crews I work with at both River City Cards and Cardinal Couple.
Mike Gilpatrick, editor
I personally have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. For starters, I am thankful to work with some of the best writers and photographers in Louisville sports media. Second, I am thankful for the 50 random photos on Jared’s camera every game that I need to cycle through for decent action shots.
On a more serious note, I am also thankful to all of the readers River City Cards has. You are the reason we keep this site up. Please enjoy today, and time with family. And remember those that cannot be home for Thanksgiving.
While today is for Turkey, dressing, and Pumpkin Pie, tomorrow is still rivalry week for Kentucky vs. Louisville.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
