The Louisville Cardinals hosted their first ever Louisville Live event at Fourth Street Live on Friday evening. It gave fans their first look at the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Both teams were introduced, and included an abundance of fan giveaways, team activities, and a three-point competition.
The 2018-19 women’s basketball team entered first, and when they took the half-court, the crowd went wild. The biggest cheer came for Chris Mack, after the men’s basketball team was introduced.
Louisville Live was what the program, fan base, and basketball world needed. The past few years were plagued with scandal and coaching changes. But now, the Cardinals enter the Chris Mack era. Fans welcomed Mack to the city.
Jordan Nwora also won an exhibition three-point contest. The event was also attended by four-star center Aidan Igiehon; who was welcomed by the entirety of the 7,500 fans there. The big man is 36th on ESPN’s 100 recruiting rankings. If Igeihon commits, he will add to Mack’s already No. 2 recruiting class.
Louisville Live built support for the men’s and women’s basketball team. The men’s team hosts Bellarmine on October 28th at 2pm, as their first exhibition game. The women start the season in Bowling Green, KY; facing the Hilltoppers on Tuesday, November 6th. A gametime has yet to be announced.
