The Louisville women's soccer team celebrated senior day on Sunday before the game. But at the end of the game it was the Clemson Tigers who came out celebrating with a 1-0 win at Lynn Stadium.
At the 33:43 mark a shot by Kailen Sheridan managed to sneak just over the fingertips of Taylor Bucklin, where Jenna Weston knocked the ball in for her fourth goal of the season and the only goal of the match.
Clemson played aggressively on offense for the full 90 minutes. The U of L defense stayed strong through most of it and senior goalkeeper recorded eight saves on the day.
On offense, the Cards could get very little going. Possession was difficult to keep against a Top 10 team and Louisville accumulated 10 shots, but only four on goal.
The team hits the road for threee games before returning home for the final game of the regular season when Virginia visits on Thursday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m.
