Having one of the toughest schedules in the country is no easy task. However, the Louisville filed hockey team has faced it like a champ. The Cardinals currently sit at 10-4 and are ranked 11th in the country. Nine of the 14 opponents faced so far are currently ranked in the Top 25, Three of the final four opponents are also currently ranked.
Sophomore stud Minout Mink leads the team with eight goals. Nicole Woods is right behind her with six, and they are supported by Taylor Stone and Marigrace Ragsdale, who have five goals apiece. They are a part of nine Cardinals to score so far this season.
On the defensive side of the ball Ayeisha McFerran and Hollyn Barr have split time. They have combined for 57 saves.
Scoring has been heavily in favor of Louisville's sticks, outscoring opponents 35-21.
With this weekend's victories it should be no surprise to see Louisville in the Top 10. The Cards are in perfect position to not only find themselves in the NCAA Tournament, but also potentially when the ACC regular season.
Louisville is undefeated at home this season, but has struggled on the road. Three of their final four games are at Trager Stadium with the only road game being at North Carolina.
Once the regular season has concluded the Cardinals have things n their side still. The ACC Tournament is at Trager Stadium this season and, if the Cards make it to the NCAA Final Four, they will get to play at home once again.
Their next game is on the road at North Carolina but will return home to host Virginia on Saturday, October 21.
