The woes continue for the Louisville volleyball team. They fell to Wake Forest 3-1 and Duke 3-0.
On Friday night, the Demon Deacons visited the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards took the first set 25-23, before dropping the next three 26-24, 25-23, and 25-19. Compared to past games the Cards seemed to have things together and communicated well. Janelle Jenkins contributed 16 kills and Melanie McHenry provided another 13. U of L also had 10 blocks, but it wasn't enough as Wake Forest walked away with a win. In the fourth set Louisville held a five point lead before falling apart in the last set and losing by six.
Duke visited on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils have hopes of finishing in the top four in the ACC this year. Duke swept Louisville 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-21). Tess Clark and Jasmine had 10 kills apiece and Kali Eaken was credited with 23 assists, after having 37 on Friday. Molly Sauer led the team in digs both days and now has over 200 on the season.
Louisville falls to 5-9 on the season and 0-4 in the ACC, tied for last. They travel up north to Boston College and Syracuse next weekend in hopes of earning their first conference win.
