A visit from the swim team and a Pink Out contributed to the successful weekend for Louisville volleyball. The Cards swept Clemson and Georgia Tech at home. The wins help UofL improve to 13-5 on the season and 7-1 in the ACC.
Friday night the paw print-stamped $2 bills of Clemson found their way into Cardinal Arena, but the Tigers were no match for the boisterous crowd at Cardinal Arena. The Cards blew out the visitors in every set. Megan Sloan had a season high eight kills and Amanda Green recorded nine kills.
Sunday afternoon was a colorful pink crowd when the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visited. An 8-0 run to start the match got things rolling. UofL used a 10-0 run to close out the second half to send the crowd into a frenzy. Melanie McHenry posted 14 kills on the day.
At this point in the season five different Cardinals have broken 100 season kills. Wilma Rivera has 670 assists on the year, with no other players even at the double-digit mark. Molly Sauer leads the team in digs with 266.
With a 7-1 conference mark Louisville sits one game behind 8-0 Pittsburgh and NC State.
Louisville takes their six game win streak on the road for a trio of match-ups. The Cards won at home against Miami, Florida State, and Notre Dame, but now travel on the road to face many of the top teams in the ACC.
