cards get taste of "maction" hoping to rebound
Last week, Louisville was demolished by Clemson. This week, things appear to be a whole lot easier.
The Louisville Cardinals host Kent State, a team from the great white north, in the MAC. They played ACC rival Clemson in week one, and were demolished 56-3.
Previewing the Golden Flashes
Kent State is not the team you picture when you imagine top-tier football. They are 1-2, with the only victory coming over Howard. The Golden Flashes rank 126th in total offense, and 121st in defense. They were blown out in two of their three games. Against the Tigers, the Flashes lost 56-3. Then, on the road in week three, the Flashes were shut out on the road at Marshall, 21-0.
The Flashes are respectable on the ground. The y rank 53rd, with 3.94 yards per attempt. They're led by Senior QB Nick Holley, who has rushed 35 times for 207 yards and one touchdown.
On the other hand, Kent State struggles passing the ball. Holley had attempted 20 passes, but only connected on nine. Two of the nine did go into the end-zone for a Touchdown.
What to watch for
This is the game Louisville needs after such a tough loss last week. Kent State has only been to two bowl games, and three winning seasons. the most recent being 2012.
Kent State will try to run the ball most downs. Louisville still has a good defensive front, ranking 43rd in the nation. That, along with Louisville's ninth overall offense, will make this game look a lot like Charlotte last season. Expect The Cards to get back on track. My prediction: Louisville 42 Kent State 7
