A day after a last second victory against NC State, the 5-seed Louisville women's basketball team fell to Notre Dame 84-73 in the semifinal of the ACC tournament.
Asia Durr scored a game-high 26 points in another big performance by the sophomore. Teammate Myisha Hines-Allen posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, but the Cards still fell.
The game was close for a majority of the game- no more than two to three possessions- until the fourth quarter where the Irish began to pull away. The game was tied at halftime and U of L trailed by only two points at the start of the fourth quarter.
Midway through the fourth quarter Louisville went on a scoring drought, giving Notre Dame the opportunity to extend their lead.
Turnovers caused the Cards to suffer some, giving the ball away 18 times. The turnovers led to 19 points for the 1-seed Fighting Irish.
Louisville will make the NCAA tournament, but must sit and wait until Monday, March 13 for the selection show. Currently ranked 14th in the country, Louisville is in good position to host a pair of early round games at the KFC Yum! Center.
