Famous rapper, PnB Rock died at the age of 30 as a result of being shot during a robbery at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. Rock was having lunch with his girlfriend at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles, when he was shot in the afternoon. Just after the shooting, the rapper was transferred to the L.A. Hospital for medical care, where he was announced dead. PnB Rock was best known for his single, “Selfish”, which was released in 2016.
PnB Rock was dining at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in the afternoon with his girlfriend, Steph Sibounheuang. The workers at the restaurant said that the shooter was especially after PnB Rock, as he had posted a video showcasing his new expensive jewelry. After shooting PnB Rock, the suspect fled the venue and has since been on loose. Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles has stated that there is surveillance footage that can help the authorities in finding the suspect.
According to LA Police, the event occurred at around 1:15 pm at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles located in the South Los Angeles Area. PnB Rock had posted a picture of him eating at the diner with the location tagged along, which led the shooter to locate Rock. The Instagram post has since been deleted. The suspect came to the restaurant where Rock was dining and demanded his jewelry. Rock was shot almost immediately during the robbery by the suspect, who then fled to his car for escape. At L.A. Hospital, Rock was pronounced dead at 1:59 pm.
The Los Angeles Police Department has stated that they are examining the surveillance footage they acquired from the restaurant for identifying the suspect. LAPD is also in talks with the nearby businesses to see if their cameras have captured any evidence related to the event. The department has since denied providing any news about the inspection.
PnB Rock was famous among the newer generation. His real name was Rakim Hasheem Allen he was born on December 9, 1991. Rock was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and moved to LA, to pursue his dreams of getting into the music industry. PnB Rock was signed by Atlantic Records, one of the most well-known music labels in the world. Rock started his music career in 2014, with the release of a mixtape. He released his single, “Selfish” in June 2016. Selfish was acclaimed globally by the public. The music video for the song has currently over 54 million views on YouTube. It was ranked number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Due to this, Rock was also featured on the list of “Ten Artists You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone.
Many artists have reacted to the death of PnB Rock with condolence for his kids and his family. Artists such as Nicki Minaj, Offset, Russ, Chika, and more have expressed their feelings regarding this news. Many artists referred to him as one of the most gentle and kindest people they have ever met. Nicki Minaj also mentioned the death of Pop Smoke, another rapper who was killed as he shared a post on social media while tagging his location.
