Launch of a recall campaign for Rewe brand sausages
A recall campaign was launched for a "ja!" branded Rewe due to potential health risks from plastic foreign bodies. Consumption is strongly discouraged.
The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety and the zur Mühlen Gruppe Markenvertriebs GmbH inform of a recall campaign for the "ja! Charcuterie Cervelatwurst 200g". The reason for this is small blue plastic foreign bodies that may be contained in the sausage and pose a health risk.

Only the "ja!" Delikatess Cervelatwurst" in the 200g package (EAN 4388840218462) with the expiry date August 15, 2022, reports the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety.

The manufacturer of the sausage is DöllingHareico Fleisch- und Wurstwaren GmbH & Co. KG and other expiry dates or other articles are not affected.
After the discovery of small blue plastic foreign bodies in the sausage, they immediately reacted and had the affected product withdrawn from sale, reports zur Mühlen Gruppe Markenvertriebs GmbH.
Recall campaign in ten federal states
The recall is a purely precautionary measure, affecting all federal states except Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia. Anyone who has already purchased the product can return it to the respective store and have the purchase price refunded, even without presenting the receipt.
Foreign body health hazards
Depending on the size and nature of the foreign bodies, they can pose different health risks. For example, cuts or punctures in the mouth and throat are possible and there is a risk of internal injury or inflammation if the foreign bodies become lodged in the body.
If the foreign bodies get stuck in the throat when swallowed, it can also cause breathing problems. It is therefore necessary to avoid eating cervelat sausage. (fp)
