Heinrich Aldag Altländer Fleisch - und Wurstwaren GmbH & Co. KG from Guderhandviertel (Lower Saxony) is recalling the self-service item "Putenzwiebelmettwurst" because harmful listeriosis has been detected in this sausage.

Listeria detected

The "putenzwiebelmettwurst" (packaging unit: 500g, 1000g, batch number: 210722, shelf life: 08/10/2022) from the manufacturer Heinrich Aldag Altländer Fleisch - und Wurstwaren GmbH & Co. KG is affected by the recall in Classes.

The reason for the warning is evidence of listeria, reports the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) on its portal "lebensmittelnning.de".

Severe disease course possible

As the BVL explains, listeria usually manifests within 14 days of infection with diarrhea and fever. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems in particular can develop more serious illnesses with blood poisoning and meningitis.

In pregnant women, even without symptoms, the unborn child may be injured. Anyone who has eaten this sausage and develops severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical attention and report a possible Listeria infection.

And pregnant women who have eaten this food should seek medical attention even if they have no symptoms. For other people without symptoms, it doesn't make sense. (ad)
